CTBV

The group has a controlling interest in a 2 x 35 MW thermal power plant owned by Compagnie Thermique de Belle Vue Limitée (CTBV), which produces around 350 GWh of electricity annually from bagasse and coal. Its production contributes some 15% to the yearly national electricity consumption.

Electricity is produced by using bagasse during the cane harvest season (July to December) and coal during the intercrop season.

The plant was commissioned in 2000 and the Power Purchase Agreement signed with the local utility company has a 20-year duration. The power plant is managed by CTBV Management Co Ltd, a joint venture lead by Séchilienne-SIDEC, the group's French strategic partner in CTBV.
