Harel Frères Group (Harel Frères), whose origins date back to 1838, is a conglomerate, established in Mauritius, operating regionally. Incorporated in July 1960, Harel Frères Limited is one of the major sugar companies in Mauritius, cultivating some 6,000 hectares of sugar cane land in the northern part of the island (out of a total of 7,000 hectares of land owned by Harel Frères). It has, throughout the years, diversified its activities from an essentially sugar-oriented company to one with interests in energy production, alcohol production and commercial distribution, property development and construction as well as financial services.

Harel Frères has expanded in Africa; it is present in Ivory Coast through its investment in two sugar factories and is also in Madagascar, having acquired a minority stake in Orange Madagascar, and through Grays Inc. Ltd, one of its subsidiaries engaged in alcohol distillation and commercial distribution.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has always formed part of the group's culture since its inception. All funds destined to CSR activities are centralized and managed by the 'Fondation Harel Frères'.
